Have you had enough of a heavy chain and are you looking for an e-bike that requires as little maintenance as possible? Then the Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX is a great choice. This is the belt-drive version in the Touring Hybrid range: it features the same powerful 90 Nm Bosch motor and 800 Wh battery as the Cube Touring Hybrid Pro, but with a quiet, clean Gates belt instead of a chain, and with more luxurious mudguards.
Bosch Performance Line motor (PX, 90 Nm) with Smart System.
This mid-drive motor delivers plenty of torque: ideal if you often have to cycle uphill, carry luggage, or simply prefer to ride with a bit more power in reserve. Thanks to the Bosch Smart System, the motor works seamlessly with the Bosch Intuvia 200 display on your handlebars: you can see your speed, selected assistance level and remaining range at a glance.
Gates CDX belt drive with Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub.
Instead of a chain, this bike uses a carbon belt, which doesn’t stretch, doesn’t rust and barely leaves any dirt or oil behind. That saves you a lot of maintenance and keeps your trouser leg clean. Because the gears are housed in the rear hub rather than in a derailleur, you can also change gears whilst stationary – handy at traffic lights.

Our workshop will assemble your new Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX for you before delivery and adjust the brakes and hub, so that you can take delivery of it ready to ride straight away. Are you unsure about the settings for your Bosch Intuvia 200 (language, display, pairing with the app)? Have a look in the manual supplied or feel free to ask at one of our Superstores: we’ll be happy to help you get started.
• Charge the battery before your first ride and, if you’re putting the bike away for a while, try to keep the battery charge at around 50 per cent: this is better for its lifespan.
• Check your tyre pressure regularly: you’ll find the correct pressure marked on the side of the Schwalbe Motion Big Apple tyre.
• You don’t need to lubricate the Gates belt, but do wipe it clean with a dry cloth every now and then if there’s any sand or grit on it.
• The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes require very little maintenance, but do have the brake pads checked in good time at our workshop.

Does the Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX have a chain or a belt?
The Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX does not have a chain, but a Gates CDX belt drive combined with a Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub. This makes the drive quiet, clean and virtually maintenance-free.
How much maintenance does the belt drive on the Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX require?
Very little: unlike a chain, the Gates CDX belt does not need to be lubricated or replaced regularly. Wiping it down once if there’s sand or grit on it is usually enough. A separate chain guard is therefore not necessary on this model.
Does the Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX come with a lock?
No, this bike only comes with a battery lock, but not with a frame lock. Do you want to leave it parked outside unattended for longer periods? In that case, we recommend an additional chain lock for extra security. You’ll also need a suitable lock to insure the bike.
What is the maximum weight the Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX can carry?
The Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX has a maximum rider weight of 110 kg. If you include your luggage and accessories, the total system weight (bike, rider and load combined) may be up to 150 kg.
What is the difference between the Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX and the Cube Touring Hybrid Pro?
Both have the same 90 Nm Bosch motor and 800 Wh battery, but the drivetrain differs: the Cube Touring Hybrid Deluxe SLX uses a low-maintenance Gates belt with a 5-speed Nexus hub, whilst the Cube Touring Hybrid Pro has a 12-speed Shimano XT chain and therefore offers a wider gear range for hilly terrain. Do you want as little maintenance as possible? Choose the Deluxe SLX. Do you want a wider gear range? Choose the Pro.
